William P. Slichter Award

To recognize outstanding achievements by NIST staff in building or strengthening ties between NIST and industry.

Paul Boynton is recognized for his leadership in modern standards and measurement methods for electronic displays, particularly for his industry outreach to disseminate his work. Mr. Boynton is chair of both the Council for Optical Radiation Measurements Electronic Display Committee and the Society for Information Display Definitions and Standards Committee as well as active in the development of international standards through ISO and IEC. At the same time, Mr. Boynton’s industry collaborations have impacted two critical national applications: Emergency Response and Telemedicine.
