One Health

The One Health Initiative seeks to forge interdisciplinary global health collaboration in all aspects of health care for humans, animals and the environment. Engaged from HHS are the Office of Global Affairs (OGA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), but also includes organizations such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), American Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and the U.S. National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).

As stated on the One Health website, the concept is that collaboration will advance health care by accelerating biomedical research discoveries, enhancing public health efficacy, expanding the scientific knowledge base, and improving medical education and clinical care for the purpose of protecting and saving lives in our present and future generations.
