Workplans: A Program Management Tool

Workplans: A Program Management Tool is a Web-based training course designed to guide participants through the process of developing a workplan. This course is based on Workplans: A Program Management Tool—Education and Training Packet, 2000, created by CDC's Division of Cancer Prevention and Control.

Course Goal

The goal of this online training is to provide Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP) directors and staff with the knowledge and skills to help them use a systematic approach for developing and using workplans as a management tool for ensuring program success.

Course Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to describe three benefits of developing and using a workplan, describe the eight recommended components of a workplan, and develop a workplan for their program.

Intended Audience

This course is designed to train state, tribal, and territorial BCCEDP program directors and staff, as well as other public health and program management staff. The training is most appropriate for participants who have little or no experience with National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program's (NBCCEDP) workplans and wish to strengthen their skills and learn a systematic approach for developing workplans.

Course Layout

Included are study questions and a case study to assist you in learning and applying the information for each topic. The approximate time for completing the course is 1 to 2 hours. Continuing education credit is not offered for this online course.
