The Indian Self Determination and Education Assistance Act to host panel discussion on Monday, October 24, 2011. The presentation provided an overview of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, P.L. -93-638. Panel Members include:

The Commissioner for the Administration on Native Americans (ANA), Lillian Sparks, to travel to Beaverton, Oregon October 2, 20118 through October 30, 2011 to participate in the Nike N7 Summit. While there, she presented on ANA’s Let’s Move! in Indian Country activities.
The Indian Health Service (IHS) to host a ceremony, “Native Youth: Connecting Cultures and Wellness,” in the HHS Great Hall on Wednesday November 2, 2011.
The Commissioner for the Administration on Native Americans (ANA), Lillian Sparks, to travel to Portland, Oregon October 30, 2011 through November 4, 2011 to participate in the Congress of American Indians Conference.
November 30thNative American Heritage Month Roundtable Event
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) will host a Native American Heritage Month roundtable event on Wednesday November 30. The event will share information about tribally-focused behavioral health programs being done by SAMHSA, Indian Health Service, HRSA and other federal agencies.
November 28th, Aerospace 7th Floor Multipurpose Room A Native American Heritage Cultural Event
A Native American Heritage Cultural Event to take place on Monday, November 28, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Aerospace 7th Floor Multipurpose Room. The event features guest speaker Gyasi Ross, a member of the Blackfeet tribe, lawyer, and contributor to the Indian Country Today newspaper.
November 11th-13th, Richmond, VA 21st Annual Great American Indian Exposition Powwow
The 21st annual Great American Indian Exposition Powwow will be held on November 11-13, 2011 in Richmond, VA, at The Showplace, 3000 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Richmond , VA 23223. Gates open at 9:00 AM on Friday with grand entry at 6:00 PM. Gates open at 11:00 AM on Saturday with grand entry at 12:00 PM.

November 10th, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA George Mason University's 9th Annual Veterans' Powwow
George Mason University is holding it's 9th Annual Veteran's Powwow on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Doors open at 11 AM. First Grand Entry at noon. Second Grand Entry at 7 PM. There will be a free evening feast, veterans' honor ceremony, purchase of Native American crafts and jewelery, games and contests with prizes, and many more fun activities for the entire family.
