Aberdeen Area

Office of Health Programs - Dental Services

Aberdeen Area currently has 21 dental programs and will soon be expanding. This number includes six programs located within hospitals; the remainder being housed in health centers. There is mix of federal and tribally run facilities in Aberdeen where program locations vary from rural to urban. Basic services such as preventative, emergency, restorative, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry are emphasized although a limited amount of endodontics, periodontics and prosthetics are also offered. Oral health in the Aberdeen Area presents many challenges such as adults with multiple co-morbidities and a high rate of early childhood caries, however, Aberdeen programs are growing and it is an exciting time to be involved in oral health!
