FOIA IT Working Group: Examining Online Request Forms
May 31st, 2012 Posted by

On June 13th we will hold the next meeting of the FOIA IT Working Group, a forum for agencies to exchange ideas on the greater use of technology in the administration of the FOIA.

At the meeting, we will discuss the formation of a subcommittee to explore the standardization of agency online FOIA request forms.  With over 111 offices across the government currently offering an online FOIA request-making capability, and many more developing similar resources, we believe it will be beneficial to conduct a review of existing online forms to identify common features, key differences, and to determine the extent to which it is possible to standardize these forms.  This review will assist us in identifying best practices for creating online request forms.

The meeting is open to all members of the FOIA IT Working Group, as well as other agency personnel with technology expertise.  The details for the meeting are:

FOIA IT Working Group
Department of Justice, Office of Information Policy
