Description of Duties
The incumbent will design epidemiologic projects/studies to answer specific public health questions,
implement such projects, analyze data and interpret results of these analyses. The Fellow will provide
support and advice on scientific or public health issues relative to meat, poultry and egg products, be
used as a basis for key decisions concerning public health matters, and will contribute to the effectiveness
of agency programs.
Qualification Requirements
- A doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, or related discipline. Specialized knowledge or education in food safety, foodborne illness, infectious diseases, surveillance or outbreak investigations is preferred.
- Experience with SAS or an equivalent level of statistical analysis package is required.
- Note: Candidates must have received their doctoral degree within the last 3 years.
Promotion Potential
GS-13, future promotion depends on incumbent's demonstrated performance and ability to assume additional responsibility.
