Description of Duties
The incumbent will perform scientific duties related to food safety/defense and public health, to include
writing protocols and the design, collection, management, analysis, and interpretation of data. The work
completed will contribute to the effectiveness of agency programs, and will be used to aid the Agency in
taking a more proactive approach to public health safety/defense and policy.
Qualification Requirements
- Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in biological sciences, biotechnology, molecular biology, biomedical
engineering, or other allied sciences such as animal physiology, genetics, zoology and microbiology.
- Specialized knowledge or education in the field of biotechnology is required.
- Note: Candidates must have received their doctoral degree within the last 3 years.
Promotion Potential
GS-13, future promotion depends on incumbent's demonstrated performance and ability to assume additional responsibility.
