Who We Are:The Office of Medical Services (MED) has over 200 clinicians working in over 170 countries, supported by medical and administrative personnel in Washington, D.C. and abroad.
What We Do:MED provides healthcare to U.S. government employees and their families who are assigned to our embassies and consulates worldwide. We also advise our embassy and State Department management about health issues throughout the world. Although we cannot provide medical services to U.S. citizens abroad who are not affiliated with the U.S. government, we do collaborate with the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs to ensure the assistance they render is medically appropriate for the situation and available resources.
