Grants

  • Grants.gov - This Web site allows applicants to apply for and manage federal grants online. Through this Web site users are able to search for federal grants that will help to facilitate the sharing of important state or local geospatial data.

  • Exchange Network Grants - The Exchange Network Grant Program provides funding to states, territories and federally recognized Indian tribes to support the development of the Environmental Information Exchange Network.  These grants can help facilitate the sharing of state and local geospatial data.

Agreements

  • National Land Cover Data (NLCD)
EPA coordinates with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to support the development of the National Land Cover Data (NLCD).  The NLCD project was initiated in 1992 by several federal agencies to acquire remote sensing data needed for environmental monitoring programs.  The NLCD includes land cover data for the conterminous U.S. and is now used widely for land use planning, hydrological analyses and ecological assessments.  (Contact: Brenda Gibson, Gibson.Brenda@epa.gov)

  • Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS)
As part of an interagency agreement, EPA and the Smithsonian Institute coordinate the development and administration of the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS).  ITIS is a comprehensive, standardized database of the scientific and common names of organisms and their locations on earth.  (Contact: Brenda Gibson, Gibson.Brenda@epa.gov)

  • Geospatial One-Stop (GOS)
Geospatial One-Stop (GOS), also known as geodata.gov, is a public gateway to federal geospatial data holdings. EPA works with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to provide access to a variety of geospatial information that use National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) data standards.
