Name: Mildred
Age: 73
Location: South Carolina
Activity: Walking, Step Machine

I had a complete knee replacement that created a need for continual exercise. Since I started attending a fitness center, I have been greatly blessed. I began using the step machine and the treadmill for 15 minutes, five days a week. The result was remarkable. I was able to bend my knee backwards and forwards without pain. These exercises were increased to 30 minutes, four times a week. My schedule change resulted in a change of eating habits. A small meal before and after exercise (breakfast and lunch) consists of cereal, fruit and raw vegetables. My endurance level has amazed me. I can stoop to fasten my shoes without feeling stressed. I have more energy to clean without getting tired so quickly. I can breathe more deeply, and walk longer distances without the use of my cane. My blood pressure has lowered considerably. I have not targeted weight loss yet. I am basking in the wonderful changes occurring in my body.
