December 22, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- As an aid to federal agencies seeking ways to "work better and cost less," the U.S. Office of Personnel Management has issued "Towards Reinvention--A Guide to HRM Reform." [News Release]

December 13, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- As part of OPM's on-going commitment to streamline the federal government's cumbersome hiring process, a new customer-friendly system has been developed to simplify the student employment program for college and high school students. [News Release]

December 13, 1994: Washington, DC--U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director James B. King will swear in Governor William J. Sheffield as Chairman of the Federal Salary Council. President Clinton appointed Governor Sheffield as Chair and member of the Federal Salary Council on October 6. [News Release]

December 6, 1994: Washington, DC--As part of the National Performance Review human resource initiatives, the Office of Personnel Management is proposing to abolish the governmentwide regulations requiring that agencies establish Administrative Grievance Systems (AGS) for resolving workplace disputes. December 2, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is issuing interim regulations to implement Section 4 of Public Law 103-336, which amended the Federal Employees" Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) law to provide that all federal employees and former employees could irrevocably assign ownership of their life insurance coverage to someone else.

December 1, 1994: Washington, D.C--President Bill Clinton has approved the recommendations of the President's Pay Agent on locality-based comparability payments, or locality pay, to take effect on the first pay period beginning on or after January 1, 1995. [News Release]
