First Lady Michelle Obama and White House chef Sam Kass tell the story of the first garden on White House grounds since Eleanor Roosevelt's Victory Garden during World War II. This new garden was planted in the Spring of 2009 with the help of local elementary school children and has yielded a constant supply fresh produce for the First Family and White House events.

  • I love this video of the First Lady's garden. She inspired us to grow our own garden this year. I love this First Family so much and both Jacquie and I send them all of our support. I cannot believe some of the negative comments that I am reading here. May God bless our First Family.

  • I am assuming they did not plant any GMO seeds..sounds like they didn't use any "chemical" fertilizers..good for them..be nice if they were more vocal about it and that he really came through with his campaign promise of having GMO's labeled..

  • I've heard abaout people being forced to remove their home gardens. Yet the whitehouse can have a garden.

I doesn't matter how much they get on with Monsanto, I doubt they are planting GMO crops and using roundup.

Also, I doubt Michelle did even 10% of the work.
