Every year thousands of people request information describing the
Library of Congress. Students writing reports, as well as tourists
and patrons who have visited the Library, wish to know more about
it. The references listed below may provide a glimpse of the
Library's history, architecture, and collections, as well as an
understanding of the vastness and complexity of its divisions and
services. Works issued by the Government Printing Office may be
available at government depository libraries. Other works,
including periodical articles, should be available at large public
or university libraries.
