Highlights

EPA’s Center for Corporate Climate Leadership serves as a resource center for all companies looking to expand their work in the area of GHG measurement and management. The Center will help to establish norms of climate leadership by encouraging companies with emerging climate objectives to identify and achieve cost-effective GHG emission reductions, while helping more advanced companies build their climate leadership activities into their supply chains and beyond.

As part of this commitment and in partnership with three non-profit organizations—The Climate Registry (The Registry), the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), and the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO)—EPA is co-sponsoring the Climate Leadership Awards (CLA), a national awards program to recognize exemplary corporate, organizational, and individual leadership in response to climate change. The Climate Leadership Awards serve as a cornerstone of the new Center, alongside activities such as providing GHG management tools and technical resources for companies of all types and working with other federal agencies to help reduce the U.S. government’s climate impacts.

In addition, the Center for Corporate Climate Leadership will continue to support the Federal Supplier Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Pilot with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to assist small federal contractors measure and reduce their GHG emissions. This pilot program will continue through 2013.
