GSA Helps Unveil New Look Data.gov

Video Length: 1 minute 15 seconds

Hailing open government and transparency, GSA welcomed its agency partners to a one-year anniversary celebration for Data.gov, the website leading the revolution to simplify public access to government data.

Federal Chief Information Office Vivek Kundra kicked off the event in GSA’s headquarters auditorium in Washington by unveiling a refreshed version of the site, which allows the public easier access to all kinds of government data. GSA is playing a leading role in advancing the administration's open government agenda, and hosts and helps manage the site with support of web developers and publishers from around the government.

Kundra also thanked the federal open government community for creating a site that empowers people to engage, participate, and collaborate with their government.

The Data.gov website initiative is part of President Barack Obama’s Open Government Directive. The site is a one-stop shop for reports, data and other information that informs citizens how their government is working for them.
