GSA Collaborates with Industry Partners to Green the Supply Chain

November 16, 2010

The ongoing collaboration between the General Services Administration and its industry partners is leading to a greener federal supply chain and helping foster a clean energy economy, GSA Administrator Martha Johnson told a group of business executives in Chicago.

The new GSA GreenGov Supply Chain Partnership focuses on promoting clean energy and cutting waste and pollution by measuring greenhouse gas emissions, Johnson said during the Nov. 16 roundtable discussion.

Johnson said it is vital to bring small businesses into this process by offering coaching and mentoring to help them gain the tools they need to measure their greenhouse gas footprint and compete on a level field for federal contract dollars. The Small Business Pilot program is designed to help small federal contractors with technical support in setting emissions reduction targets.
