WASHINGTON, Feb. 3, 2011 – In the Public Buildings Service’s latest video, “A Year in Review,” the GSA design team takes us on a journey across the American frontier to highlight some of its best projects.

The “Year in Review” video surveys some of these projects. From the U.S. Land Port of Entry in Jackman, Maine, to a child care center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, you'll see how GSA’s Design Excellence Program continues to define the cutting edge of green building, workplace interiors, and more.  

As always, the award-winning program garners attention as it excels in all areas of leadership, stewardship, design and construction.

In each of GSA’s 11 regions, the country’s best architects and engineers have planned, designed, constructed, and modernized federal offices, courthouses, land ports of entry, and other facilities to be icons of democracy.

Each new project – some featured in the video – is a hallmark of American pride, laying the groundwork for our future heritage, and ensuring that talented men and women are working according to the highest standards of sustainability; security; engineering; urban and landscape design; art; and historic preservation.

Thanks to the Design Excellence Program, PBS is spearheading numerous projects that not only create jobs, but also teach employees about new technologies and innovation.
