We’d like to thank you for participating in the Health Data Platform Challenges webinar held this past Thursday, July 19. We appreciate your interest in our developer challenges, and hope you'll register and submit innovative works. The webinar recording and presentation are embedded below.

We'd also like to clarify our answer to a question at ~28 minutes in the webinar recording regarding international participation in our HealthData.gov challenges, which may have incorrectly given the impression that non-US citizens and entities cannot participate.

To be clear, the correct answer is that non-US citizens and entities are welcome to participate.

In addition, the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act states: “To be eligible to win a prize… in the case of a private entity, shall be incorporated in and maintain a primary place of business in the United States, and in the case of an individual, whether participating singly or in a group, shall be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.”

For additional challenge rules and guidance, please visit our HHS challenges page, and page three of the America Competes Reauthorization Act.

We're halfway through the initial challenge period for our first two challenges! Please register to submit your works for the Metadata and Simplified Sign-On healthdata.gov challenges - we look forward to being inspired by your submissions.

Please contact me at george dot thomas 1 at hhs dot gov with any further questions you may have.

(For some weird reason, the audio and slides don't sync up, but even so, it should be easy for you to tell which slide I was talking about. While we hope to not have this issue again, but for now, just take a look at the embedded slide deck, whilst listening to the recording.)
