Program Description

Program Office: Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE)
Program Type: Discretionary/Competitive Grants

The Literacy Information and Communication System (LINCS) Regional Professional Development Centers (RPDCs) program is authorized under title II of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) (20 U.S.C. 9253(2)(H)), the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA). Under section 243 of the AEFLA, the Secretary is authorized to establish and carry out a program of national leadership activities to enhance the quality of adult education and literacy programs nationwide.

Further information about the purpose of the program and requirements for applications is provided in the Federal Register notice published June 30, 2011.
