    New York:  Eggs laid on or after December 25, 2009, and before December 30, 2011 are eligible. Eggs laid after December 30, 2011 and before August 31, 2012 are ineligible. Eggs laid on or after August 31, 2012 are eligible.

    Minnesota - Eggs laid during the following time periods are ineligible: after April 15, 2009 but before April 1, 2010; on or after April 18, 2011 but before November 17, 2011. Eggs laid during other time periods are eligible.

    Illinois
    - Eggs laid on or before March 25, 2009, and on or after February 9, 2010 are eligible. Eggs laid on or after March 26, 2009, but before February 9, 2010 are ineligible. Eggs laid on or after February 9, 2010, are eligible.

    Pennsylvania - Eggs laid before November 15, 2009, and on or after May 17, 2010 are eligible. Eggs laid after November 15, 2009, and before May 17, 2010 are ineligible.

    North Carolina – Eggs laid prior to February 9, 2011 and on or after December 21, 2011 are eligible. Eggs laid on or after February 9, 2011 and before December 21, 2011 are not eligible.

    Missouri – Eggs laid prior to February 28, 2011,and on or after August 25, 2011 are eligible. Eggs laid on or after February 28, 2011, and before August 25, 2011 are not eligible.

    Ohio – Eggs laid prior to October 18, 2011 are eligible. Eggs laid on or after October 18, 2011 and before August 31, 2012 are not eligible. Eggs laid on or after August 31, 2012 are eligible.

    South Dakota - Eggs laid after March 20, 2008, and prior to January 9, 2012 are eligible. Eggs laid on or after January 9, 2012 and before August 31, 2012 are not eligible. Eggs laid on or after August 31, 2012 are eligible.

    FSIS Letterhead Certificate for Egg Products Derived from Eggs Laid on or after December 25, 2009, and before February 9, 2010.
    FSIS Letterhead Certificate for Egg Products Derived from Eggs Laid on or after February 9, 2010, and before April 1, 2010.
    FSIS Letterhead Certificate for Egg Products Derived from Eggs Laid on or after April 1, 2010 and before May 17, 2010.

    Note: These restrictions may not apply to dried egg products. Exporters are advised to work closely with importers to determine if product is eligible based on the type of processing applied to the product.

    These restrictions do not apply to liquid egg products produced at the establishments listed in the Documentation section, part C.

Documentation Requirements
  1. See required certification for all countries found in the Export Requirements for Egg Products document found elsewhere in the Export Library.
  2. Shell eggs may be restricted from originating or passing through certain states in which low path avian influenza has been reported. Additional certification for State transit restrictions has been removed and official seals are no longer required for egg products transiting restricted States. Applicants for export certification must determine which certification statement or statements apply to the product to be exported. The statement(s) must be typed on FSIS Form PY200 or provided on a FSIS Letterhead Certificate(s). These restrictions and certification requirements do not apply to products produced at the establishments listed in C:
    1. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after December 25, 2009, and before February 9, 2010 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Minnesota, Illinois, or Pennsylvania, and did not pass through Minnesota, Illinois, or Pennsylvania before being carried into egg processing plants."
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    2. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after February 9, 2010, and before April 1, 2010 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Minnesota or Pennsylvania, and did not pass through Minnesota or Pennsylvania before being carried into egg processing plants."
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    3. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after April 1, 2010 and before May 17, 2010 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Pennsylvania and did not pass through Pennsylvania before being carried into egg processing plants."
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    4. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after February 9, 2011 and before February 28, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from North Carolina, and did not pass through North Carolina before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    5. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after February 28, 2011 and before March 15, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from North Carolina or Missouri, and did not pass through North Carolina or Missouri before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    6. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after March 15, 2011 and before April 18, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Nebraska, North Carolina or Missouri, and did not pass through Nebraska, North Carolina or Missouri before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    7. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after April 18, 2011 and before August 25, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Nebraska, North Carolina, Missouri or Minnesota, and did not pass through Nebraska, North Carolina, Missouri or Minnesota before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    8. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after August 25, 2011, and before October 18, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Nebraska, North Carolina, or Minnesota, and did not pass through Nebraska, North Carolina, or Minnesota before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    9. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after October 18, 2011, and before October 26, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Ohio, Nebraska, North Carolina, or Minnesota, and did not pass through Ohio, Nebraska, North Carolina, or Minnesota before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    10. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after October 26, 2011, and before November 17, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Ohio, North Carolina, or Minnesota, and did not pass through Ohio, North Carolina, or Minnesota before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    11. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after November 17, 2011 and before December 21, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Ohio or North Carolina, and did not pass through Ohio or North Carolina before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    12. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after December 21, 2011 and before December 30, 2011 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from Ohio and did not pass through Ohio before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    13. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after December 30, 2011 and before January 9, 2012 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from New York or Ohio and did not pass through New York or Ohio before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    14. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after January 9, 2012 and before August 31, 2012 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "The shell eggs used for the production of the exported egg products did not originate from South Dakota, New York or Ohio and did not pass through South Dakota, New York or Ohio before being carried into egg processing plants."  
      2. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."
    15. Egg products derived from eggs laid on or after August 31, 2012 FSIS Letterhead Certificate:
      1. "To the best of FSIS’ knowledge, the processed egg products are stored in clean and sanitary wrapping and containers are handled in a way to prevent being exposed to any pathogens or any animal infectious diseases prior to shipment."

    Note: Additional certification for State transit restrictions has been removed and official seals are no longer required for egg products transiting restricted States. These restrictions and certification requirements do not apply products produced at the establishments listed in C.
  3. Alternate Certification

    In addition to the certification indicated in A., a FSIS Letterhead Certificate for Heat Treated Egg Products from Designated Establishments must be issued for liquid egg products produced at the establishments listed below.  The letterhead certificates indicated in B. should not be issued for product from these establishments.

    Est. G 1127, M.G. Waldbaum Co., Lenox, IA (for product produced on or after September 21, 2012)*
  4. Any container of processed egg product exported to Japan, regardless of the product's source, that transits through a third country, must be sealed with an official USDA seal at a USDA inspected facility. The following statement must be typed on a FSIS Letterhead Certificate:

    "The container was sealed by FSIS with USDA seal number_______________."

Plants Eligible for Export

All FSIS inspected egg products plants are eligible to export to Japan.
