What's this about a "new, redesigned" Get Smart web site?

In late June 2009, the Get Smart web site adopted a "plain language" URL (www.cdc.gov/GetSmart/). All pages were redesigned and updated. New pages - such as "Symptom Relief," which offers tips on sore throat, ear and sinus pain, runny nose, and cough relief - were added. The drop-down, left menu helps you easily browse the site. Longer pages include an "On This Page" box that gives you quick links to chunks of information. "Related Links" boxes underneath the left menu help you quickly navigate to related CDC information. All web changes are based on usability tests to assure science-based, research-driven delivery of public health information.

What information is available on the Get Smart website?

• Information on antibiotic-resistant infections and their prevention, including fact sheets and more

• Publications on appropriate antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance

• Latest news and highlights about the Get Smart campaign

Yes. The Get Smart website is produced by the Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work campaign, a component of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

How frequently is the Get Smart website updated?

The Get Smart website information is reviewed regularly and is updated at least yearly to include the latest facts.
