On June 14, 2012, The Senate Appropriations Committee passed S.3295, a bill making appropriations for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2013.

  • FY 2013 President's Budget (last updated 06/15/2012), in PDF [352KB] and MS Excel [248KB]. This detailed table shows the amounts requested for the programs and activities of the Department of Education in the FY 2013 President's Budget. It also shows appropriations for fiscal years 2011 and 2012.

  • FY 2012 Congressional Action A table (last updated 06/21/2012) shows the appropriation for FY 2012 and the required across-the-board rescission. It also includes the FY 2011 appropriation, and the FY 2012 President's budget request. For elementary and secondary education programs, Congress passed this bill using the current Elementary and Secondary Education Act.   • SOME OF FISCAL YEAR 2012 STATE ALLOCATIONS ARE PRELIMINARY ESTIMATES BASED ON CURRENTLY AVAILABLE DATA. ALLOCATIONS BASED ON NEW DATA MAY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT CHANGES FROM THESE PRELIMINARY ESTIMATES.

    The amounts listed for FY 2011 in programs with advance appropriations (Title I Grants to LEAs, Teacher Quality State Grants, Career and Technical Education State Grants, and Special Education Grants to States) reflect an across-the-board reduction that Congress passed as part of the FY 2012 Appropriation, P.L. 112-74, which required a reduction of 0.189 percent to FY 2012 discretionary budget authority, including the 2011 advance appropriations available in 2012.
