Civilian Response Corps members deploy rapidly overseas to provide critical support to the U.S. Government in host countries affected by conflict. They contribute in a number of ways including:

  • Providing surge staffing for U.S. embassies in conflict-prone countries.
  • Helping local authorities promote security and economic stability.
  • Identifying a country’s conflict drivers and resiliencies and developing the U.S. response.
  • Training and partnering with foreign governments and multilateral groups, leveraging expertise across the U.S. Government, and gathering lessons from around the world.

When not deployed, members perform many of the same functions from Washington. They also create and participate in training to prepare for future deployments.
