Fellowship Opportunities

The large and growing field of arthritis public health needs to develop a critical mass of public health researchers and interventionists.  CDC’s Arthritis Program has funded fellowships in the past with organizations such as the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR), the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), and the ORISE Research Participation Programs, and currently works with the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) to offer public health training opportunities that focus on defining the impact and reducing the burden of arthritis.   If you have an interest in getting in on the ground floor of this new area of public health research, please contact us to discuss options.

  • CDC’s EIS fellowship is a two year program in applied epidemiology (our medical detectives). The Arthritis Program offers a position every year, providing accepted EIS applicants and opportunity to match with our program. Refer to the EIS Web site for availability and instructions. Applications are typically due in mid-September for a July start.

  • CDC’s Public Health Training Opportunities Web site offers you the ability to search for fellowships by topic area.
