In May, 2006, the Stop TB in the African–American Community Summit, convened by the Division of Tuberculosis Elimination (DTBE) and RTI International (RTI), was attended by more than 100 individuals, from a myriad of organizations, with an interest in this topic. Summit attendees met to discuss and identify ways to address the problem of TB in the African–American community.
