Cancer Classroom Series
The Cancer Classroom Series are webinars that provide the educational content, tools, and resources necessary for health professionals, especially those working in public health, to address cancer as a public health problem.
Format: Webinar Presentations; Closed Captioned
Audience: Those new to the field of oncology, especially public health professionals, community health educators, and patient navigators.
Culture and Literacy: Bridging Communications Gaps
Culture and its relation to cancer is an important but poorly understood concept. Culture influences patients’ and communities’ perceptions of cancer risk, their trust in oncology professionals, and their approach to cancer treatment including clinical research. This webinar, the second in our 2012 series, will focus on culture and how its incorporation into clinical practice may help reduce cancer health disparities across the cancer care continuum.
Thursday, September 27, 2012 2:00 PM ET (Registration is Closed; Archive Coming Soon!)
Presenter: Cathy D. Meade, PhD, RN, FAAN
