Rescan Your Converter Box

Transcript

Announcer: Well, we are just days into the DTV conversion and viewers are having some issues getting all of the channels scanned correctly into their DTV converter box or digital television. To help us understand this problem Patrick Webre is here from the FCC to tell us about a simple procedure that has been very effective for many viewers that has been dubbed the “double scan”. Mr. Webre is here to tell us what we need to do.

Mr. Patrick Webre:

Step One: Disconnect the antenna from the converter box. Press Menu on your remote control or set top box.

Step Two: Next, look for the function that teaches your converter box or DTV what channels are available. On this box it is called “Memorize Channels”.

Step Three: When the box stops looking for new channels disconnect the power for the converter box or television for several minutes.

Step Four: Put it all back together. Make sure the antenna connection is tight and plug the AC cord back into the outlet.

Step Five: Finally, go back to the main menu and memorize or scan for the new channels one more time.

That’s it. Check and see if your favorite channels are now available on your converter box or digital television.
