In the latest installment of his "On the Go" series, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood answers questions submitted by young interns who spent the summer at the Department of Transportation. This month's episode includes questions on the new transportation bill, getting young people excited about transportation, the biggest challenge facing our infrastructure, and what Secretary LaHood wishes the public knew about DOT.
We need more constructive conversations and programs that allow us to see our officials. Mr. LaHood visited my academy recently and I was very excited to actually see dedicated public servants.

As a construction management student from CCSU 2005, im glad that Ray takes the time to address the youth. Im making my living in the heavy highway industry and im glad he sees the need to fix our roads and bridges in the name of safety. There much work to be done but so far all ive seen are band-aid jobs here in Ct. How about we get our priorities right by fixing the roads and bridges here at home and not abroad!
