I'm trying to get Housing on my university's campus to put up University enforced "No Smoking" signs outside of the designated area(s). I just walked by two guys and they were smoking their cigarettes in a nonsmoking area, right in front of our windows- gross! That wasn't the first time that has happened either! I'll let you know what they tell me the university can do about it, if they get back to me. I've tried to contact a few people in authority by Email already. :)

I'm on my 14th day of my second serious quit attempt.. Wish I could say I was doing great. Last time I made it 34 days with no cigarette. This time I'm slipping alot.. It's getting really discouraging. I am a tobacco cessation specialist and counselor, as ironic as that sounds. I help people quit everyday, help them develop plans and talk them through urges. It's frustrating that I find this so difficult for myself. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    •  Quitting cold turkey? Excellent! Outstanding choice! Abrupt nicotine cessation is fast, free, safe and how the vast majority of successful long-term ex-smokers quit. While all U.S. government quit smoking sites either discourage or offer zero encouragement to cold turkey quitters, a number of totally free sites cater exclusively to cold turkey quitters, offering encouragement together with high quality counseling, education, skills development and group support. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before U.S. health officials end the deadly practice of turning their backs on the recovery needs of the vast majority of U.S. quitters. Hopefully, they'll soon awaken to the insanity of having allowed paid pharmaceutical industry consultants to author and write official U.S. quitting policy, which effectively declares educated and supported abrupt nicotine cessation non-science based (see US Guidelines). Until then, here's 3 websites that cater exclusively to cold turkey quitters: WhyQuit, the Internet's most popular abrupt cessation forum: http://whyquit.com Turkeyville: a Facebook support group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/whyquit/ Freedom: the Internet's only 100 percent nicotine-free support site, the one place on earth where nicotine has no voice: http://ffn.yuku.com/ Millions of words but just one rule that if followed makes relapse impossible ... no nicotine today!

The ASPCA has commercials on tv about sad abused dogs and cats. Do you know how many thousands of animals have been adopted because of the ads? We need the CDC TV ads on TV again. Please. They work!

Its been a month since i quit smoking. It was a bit hard at first. Was so use to smoking with every thing i did through out my day . Then it got easier for me. started to realize how much i was use to having that cigeratte for my daily tasks. Now i dont ever feel the need to have a cigertte . I feel wonderful , I feel more healthy and looking at my kids and my family i know it was the right choice. I am tabacco free and I love it. <3
