  • This is a more realistic situation for smokers, The add about Terrie seems over-exaggerated.

  • All of the illnesses depicted can and do result from smoking. Currently, More than 8 million Americans are living with a smoking-related disease. This campaign aims to educate the public about the many adverse health conditions for which smoking is a contributing factor.

  • I am so sick of anti-smoking scare tactics! This guy probably smoked 2 to 3 packs a day. A couple cigarettes will not kill you...

  • The CDC Tips From Former Smokers ads were not designed to scare, but the goal is to show the true reality of smoking and motivate quit attempts before it’s too late. This campaign is based on strong science that repeatedly supports how hard-hitting ads help people quit and save lives. There is no safe level of smoking. Each cigarette damages your lungs, blood vessels and cells throughout your body.

  • thanks for this video, when my grandpa was 41 he had a heart attack due to his chain smoking and high intensity job at the nearby helicopter plant, thinking about this, i could have probably never seen him.

he quit right after and recently just reached his 71st birthday :)

  • @Burningsponge, your grandfather’s long life demonstrates the body’s ability to heal once a smoker has quit for good. Thank you for sharing this inspiring story with us!

  • Read some of these comments. I don't think this is going to have much of an effect on smokers.

  • Smoking makes you look cool.

  • never thought i would find this video on yt but i did

  • I,m 47, I smoked for 17 years. Last Feb. my BP sky rocketed so I went to the ER where they discovered that my aorta was totally blocked from just below my heart to mid thigh. I under went a aortoiliac enterectomy. The build was caused not by a fatty diet ( I'm a pretty healthy eater.) but by smoking. Never knew it could happen. I never picked up another cigarette and I feel better then I have in many years. BTW not including the price of cigarettes that 17 yrs of smoking cost me $185,000.

  • Cigarettes bring you closer to death, yeah and?

  • it hurts causes its real! Deal with it and quit smoking!

  • I really do appreciate these commercials, My grandmother and grandfather have smoked 2-3 packs a day for 60 years. Theyre lucky to be alive, I wish they would quit, and even after surgery my gram still wont. Thank you guys for doing what you're doing

  • I'm wondering if any of these could eventually apply to electronic cigarettes. I feel better and cleaner smoking e-cigs than I ever did smoking regular ones.
