Tisha's Story

FAS is sad, and it's hard to believe people are stupid enough to drink so much when pregnant, but I am SO sick and tired of people saying this can happen from a single glass of wine. It can't. The only reason people say there is no safe amount is because people don't necessarily know their limits and it's easier to just say don't. Regardless of the reasoning behind it, it's still a lie, and it still pisses me off.

Considering the racial tensions that are rampant in South Africa, it delights me to see this caucasian family not only take in an african child, but one with special needs. I think it goes to show that we can't assume simply by skin color. Despite how disgusting and wrong apartheid was, it still doesn't justify the way it has turned around now, with caucasians the victims instead. As human beings, we need to come together to create an environment of support to prevent diseases such as FAS.

They are really good parents. You can tell.

Studies have been done; I promise I'm not talking out of my ass!
