You can start your disability application immediately online. There is no need to wait for an appointment.
Follow these four easy steps to get started:
Step 1: Review the Adult Disability Checklist;
Step 2: Complete the online Disability Benefit Application;
Step 3: Complete the online Adult Disability Report or Child Disability Report; and
Step 4: Complete the Authorization to Disclose Information to the Social Security Administration (SSA Form-827).
You also can apply in person, or you can:

Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday to make an appointment; or

Contact your local Social Security office.
