I understand you're upset, but please don't listen to this person or anyone who says something similar. What the hell is a "normal" (I much prefer "typical"), anyway? I'm an Occupational Therapy student. We believe that if you can function then you're doing okay (you're "healthy"). If you need adjustments in certain aspects of your life in order to do that, that's fine! Your environment should be adjusted to you, not the other way around. Remember, keep your head up! Your awesome!
"Everyone has adversities in life and your adversities, although different from others, aren't going to keep you from accomplishing your dreams".
Although seeing people with physical or mental disabilities makes me feel pity at first, it is overcome by appreciation - how I should appreciate what I've got and be happy, even if it's not the 'best', I will to make the best of it. I guess that's how happiness can arise in the most dubious places...
i was born with spina bifida. i had one surgery at six months old and the doctors thought i would be in a wheelchair. but it worked:) i have never had to wear any braces nor have i had any problems with my back. you only know i have a scar if i wear a bikini. most people would never have thought i was born with it. i did gymnastics for four years and now coach little kids. so yes you can live a normal life.
. if you have nothing nice to say, dont say it all. People with SB are normal. Just like me. I dont have SB, but i was born with 2 big toes, nd had 6 surgerys. I cant wear flipflops, i cant wear sandals, and i cant wear open toe shoes. I cant swim, and i cant run because i have a surgically put in pin in my toe or else it will dislocate. I had 4 casts on both feet, and it hurts. But please dont be rude about it. :(
