The 2013 LA Auto Show opens to the public on November 30, 2012, but we invited Andre and Yvonne Porter to come to the media preview and act as Ford Social citizen journalists! They were selected through the Random Acts of Fusion, and were treated to their own private auto show right in their front yard not too long ago. They said yes to our invite to be citizen journalists at the LA Auto show, so we flew them to Los Angeles and snagged credentials to get them into the show.

Their video report from the show is above, focusing on the 2014 Ford Fiesta which was shown in the U.S. market for the first time at this show. Ford Fiesta U.S. Marketing Manager, Liz Elser, answered the questions that Andrew and Yvonne thought that you, their fellow Ford fans, would want to ask if you were given this exclusive access.

The new Fiesta, will boast a projected EPA-estimated 40 mpg-plus fuel economy rating with the available 1.0-liter EcoBoost^® engine, an exciting new look and special features and technology that will make it fun to drive.

A new MyFord Touch^® system with 6.5-inch touch screen that features enhanced voice control will be available, as will be MyKey^® that lets owners configure maximum speed and audio volume limits. It also mutes the audio until the seat belts are fastened.

The Ford Transit Wagon was also shown for the first time in the U.S., and customers will able to choose between five- and seven-passenger configurations. Two fuel-efficient four-cylinder engines will be available: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an optional 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine that is estimated to deliver an EPA-estimated 30 mpg-plus on the highway.
