It's sometimes possible to recognize when you've recently contracted HIV from signs and symptoms such as fever, rash, or swollen lymph nodes. This video will teach you how to recognize signs and symptoms of primary HIV infection that are experienced by between 40 and 90% of individuals after they are first infected with HIV. Primary HIV infection occurs during the first few weeks or months after a person first becomes infected with HIV. Symptoms include rash and/or fevers, possibly in combination with one or more of the following symptoms: malaise (which is a general feeling of weakness, discomfort, and fatigue), loss of appetite, weight loss, a sore throat, sores in the mouth, joint or muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea, fatigue, night sweats, nausea and vomiting, headache, or genital sores. The symptoms usually last from seven to ten days, and rarely more than two weeks. There is an incubation period of a few days to a few weeks between when the person was exposed to HIV and when the symptoms begin. If you have any of these symptoms and think there's even the slightest chance you might have been exposed to HIV, such as through recent sexual activity or sharing a needle, even with someone who you believe is HIV negative, you should see a doctor and ask to be tested for HIV. When you go to the doctor with any of these symptoms, it's very important to mention any risk factors you may have for HIV so they could test you. If you have ever had unprotected sex, even once, have used injection drugs, or think you might be experiencing primary HIV infection, make sure to tell your doctor. • PLEASE HELP!! ANSWER!! I AM VERY WORRY!

I had an protected sex with a girl I barely know. When I finished she remove the condom by took two tissues wrap on condom and pull out, then she took another two tissue and clean my penis, and I'm afraid that when she wipe her vaginal fluid on the base of my penis upward and touch my penis head. WILL I GET HIV FROM THAT?

3 week after I had a fever for 2 to 3 day, and a few day later I had abdomal pain (I can't sleep at night), 4th week I was itchy but

  • Paranoia. get tested but i couldnt see you getting infected, just to help you feel better , hiv.aids isnt a disease that can survive our exposed atmosphere. Always get tested even if you are sure your sex partner or life partner whatever doesnt have it. Even if you somehow were exposed to the disease even without a condom it doesnt mean you have it, My research from hiv specialists, recent books say most likely takes many more than one exposure to contract the virus. But it is deff possible.

  • Note: it is entirely possible to contract HIV in a single exposure, and there are numerous documented cases of this.

  • This is Eric; I'm not a doctor; no one can tell you over the Internet whether you've been infected with HIV or what the risk is. See a doctor, get tested for HIV, and try not to stress out too much in the meantime. Watch our video "What's the risk that I have contracted HIV?" for more information.

  • I think TIMMMAYYYY9 meant to write "just because they are young and uneducated DOESN'T mean the virus gives them a break," which would be a true statement.

  • Good job on getting tested. Make sure to follow up with your doctor and find out your status. Follow the doctor's instructions for any follow-up testing and/or treatment. If you choose to be sexually active going forward, use a condom correctly every time. Good luck!

  • yes you can, go to anonim test centre! get tested.

  • Go and test yourself. One of my friend just got infected... :(

  • Actually when your hitting puberty my mom told me that when the hairs come out it itches cuz its coming out of your skin obvioslly (shes in the medical field)

  • You may use common sence even at thirteen to know aids doesnt pop out of nowhere, whack it all you want buddy, wouldnt reccomend fingering a girl(or guy) and beating your stick tho but no, beating your penis will not give you hiv cause there is no contact to be made unless you rush to beat off right after handling girlie juices. Youre a virgin, and you masterbate. Welcome to puberty kid, its a scary ass time, just wait untill you get lumps in your nipples, normal but wierd.

  • No, just because they are young and uneducated means the virus gives them a break...I hope you are very young, otherwise, take one day of sex ed in any jr highschool.
