Definitions

  • Island Areas - island territories outside the United States covered by the Economic Census- American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S Virgin Islands.

  • Sales, shipments, receipts, or revenue - total monetary collected for goods and services provided by a business

  • Inventories - data on inventories are the products that a company intends to sell or use in the fullfillment of services they intend to sell. Inventories are collected and published for retail, wholesale, and manufacturing establishments.

  • Class of Customer - a break down of the different types of consumers purchasing goods or services being offered by establishments.

  • Operating Expenses - costs occurred by an establishment in the course of doing business.

  • E-commerce - business transactions conducted by the internet, e-mail, and extranet, electronic data interchange (EDI), and other online systems.
