As part of the Census Bureau Restructuring, the Boston Region is one of six regional offices that will close on 1 January 2013. States serviced by the Boston Region are being reassigned under the Field Realignment. The New York Region will assume responsibility for data collection, data dissemination and geographic operations for Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, 53 counties in upstate New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico as shown on Map of New Regional Office Structure [PDF 632k]. During the transition, we remain committed to exceeding the high standards required by the Census Bureau as well as delivering excellent customer service.
