(08/31/2012)U.S. Customs and Border Protection established the Information Technology & Consumer Electronics Center of Excellence and Expertise (CEE) as a central point of contact for inquiries and resolution of issues regarding electronics imports. The Trade can contact the Electronics CEE for assistance in the following areas.

• Technical guidance regarding electronics imports

• Clarification of CBP policies and procedures for electronics imports

• Assistance with CBP requests for information/action (CF-28s, CF-29s, etc.)

• Assistance with lengthy cargo holds on electronics shipments

• Information regarding counterfeit/substandard electronics imports

To initiate an inquiry, contact can be made via email at CEE-Electronics@cbp.dhs.gov or by phone at (562) 256-8765 Monday through Friday (8:00 am to 4:30 pm) Pacific Time.

Callers/Emailers will be asked to describe their concerns or experience and provide contact information.
