U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector September 27 – October 10

(Wednesday, October 17, 2012)

Blaine, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

10/02/2012 – Operators of a remote video surveillance system observed a vehicle engaged in suspicious activity north of Lynden, Washington. U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to the area, encountered the vehicle and performed a vehicle stop. The occupants of the vehicle, both citizens of Canada, were determined to be in violation of status and present in the United States illegally. The subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal.

10/05/2012 – Operators of a remote video surveillance system observed an individual cross the U.S./Canada border east of Blaine, Washington. U.S. Border Patrol agents located and apprehended the individual, a citizen of India, who admitted having just crossed into the United States illegally. The person was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

10/06/2012 – U.S. Border Patrol agents observed a suspicious vehicle stopped in close proximity to the U.S./Canada border east of Blaine, Washington. Agents conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and encountered a citizen of Turkey, who admitted having just entered the United States illegally. The person was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

10/09/2012 ­– Operators of a remote video surveillance system observed five subjects illegally cross the U.S./Canada border east of Sumas, Washington. U.S. Border Patrol agents responded and located the suspected illegal entrants. The subjects, citizens of India, admitted being present in the United States illegally. The group was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
