CVM Office of Research

The CVM Office of Research conducts applied and basic research in support of current and evolving FDA regulatory issues. We work with FDA leadership and other Federal and state agencies to provide research solutions that ensure the safety of animal derived food and animal health products.

The Office of Research is a multidisciplinary organization with scientists trained to conduct research in the broad areas of veterinary medicine, animal nutrition, animal science, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, immunology, microbiology, microbial genetics, and residue chemistry. Our facility is housed in a state-of-the-art research complex located on 167 acres, including approximately 38 acres of pasture. The complex consists of offices, laboratories, research buildings and support facilities.
