Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme

The FDA was accepted as a member into the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) on January 1, 2011. Created in 1970, PIC/S aims to promote cooperation in the field of good manufacturing practices (GMPs) among pharmaceutical inspectorates. PIC/S membership allows for networking and information exchanges with counterpart regulatory authorities, the sharing of training opportunities, promotion of quality systems, as well as participation in seminars and other committees and working groups.
