Education Secretary Duncan to Discuss the Importance of Higher Education and America’s Future at the TIME Summit on Higher Education

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will deliver remarks on the importance of accelerating attainment and achievement in higher education and participate in a panel discussion at the TIME Summit on Higher Education at 3:30 p.m. ET, on Thursday, Oct. 18 in New York City. The panel discussion will be moderated by journalist Bill Moyers.

The Carnegie Corporation of New York—in cooperation with The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, TIME Magazine and Time Warner—is convening the TIME Higher Education Summit, which will bring together approximately 100 leaders of U.S. higher education institutions, federal and state officials and corporate and philanthropic leaders. Various panels will discuss critical challenges and opportunities facing U.S. higher education, including cost, access, globalization and technology. The summit will coincide with a special issue of TIME on higher education, available on Friday, Oct. 19, and on Time.com on Thursday, October 18.
