Over the eastern North Pacific Ocean, Hurricane Paul continues to strengthen. Maximum sustained winds 90 mph, a strong Category One hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Some additional strengthening is possible during the next 24 hours, with weakening after that.
