Texas to Receive $830.8 Million to Support Education Jobs
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Texas will receive $830.8 million to support education jobs.
"There is a huge sense of urgency to get these funds out the door," said Duncan. "These education dollars will help Texas keep teachers in the classroom working with our students this year."

We’re facing difficult times right now. At all levels – from states to individual schools – we’ve had to make sacrifices and see many programs and budgets cut.
As such, it’s no surprise that we hear from a lot of people on the subject of teacher job loss, and what we as a Department can do to help alleviate some of this pain.
Well, I want to assure you all that the Department is doing all we can to help save jobs. One major way that we’ve done this is through the Education Jobs Fund – a $10 billion education fund to support education jobs in the 2010-11 school year. This money was distributed to states by a formula based on population figures, and states can distribute their funding to school districts based on their own primary funding formula or districts' relative share of federal Title I funds.
Wyoming to Receive $17.5 Million to Support Education Jobs

Arizona, Guam, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Utah to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Arizona will receive $211.8 million, Guam will receive $20 million, New Hampshire will receive $40.9 million, North Carolina will receive $298 million, Pennsylvania will receive $387.8 million, and Utah will receive $101 million to support education jobs.
Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, Ohio, Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Florida will receive $554.8 million, Hawaii will receive $39 million, Missouri will receive $189.7 million, Ohio will receive $361 million, Puerto Rico will receive $129 million, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands will receive $8 million to support education jobs.
Indiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island to Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Indiana will receive $207 million, Minnesota will receive $166.7 million, Oklahoma will receive $119 million, and Rhode Island will receive $33 million to support education jobs.
Alabama, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, and Tennessee Will Receive Funds to Support Education Jobs
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Alabama will receive $149.5 million, Iowa will receive $96.5 million, Maine will receive $39 million, Massachusetts will receive $204 million, Nebraska will receive $58.9 million, and Tennessee will receive $195.9 million to support education jobs.
