Submit a Recommendation

A complete White House Internship Program application includes two letters of recommendation. All application materials, including letters of recommendation, must be submitted on or before the corresponding application deadline.

  • Recommendations must be submitted separately using the online form.
  • The recommendations may be submitted by recommenders or applicants on behalf of their recommenders.
  • Recommenders may submit their letters before their applicant submits his/her completed application.  However, in this case, it is likely the applicant will not receive email confirmation of the submission.  Do not take this as an indication of unsuccessful submission.
  • To ensure successful submission of your recommendation letter, be sure to use the correct applicant ID, composed of the applicant’s birth date and the last four digits of his/her Social Security number (MMDDYYYY####), with no spaces, dashes or slashes.
