Robley Rex VAMC's Operation Warfighter Program

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky, partnered with the DoD's Warrior in Transition Unit at Fort Knox Army Installation to provide education, training, and volunteer internships through the Operation Warfighter Program in September 2011. This program promotes the quality of the Warrior's everyday life and prepares them for civilian employment following discharge from active
duty military service.

The events provide important information and guidance on accessing health care and other benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs. calculator Volunteers are an invaluable resource for the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing that VAVS volunteers provide to veteran patients. VAVS volunteers are a priceless asset to the Nation's veterans and to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

President's United We Serve
VA Voluntary Service (VAVS) has joined President Barack Obama’s United We Serve initiative. VAVS is committed to engaging American citizens in service during the summer months and provide lasting benefits to the veterans and communities in which they live through volunteer service.
