    • This little girl was pulled off the bed and quit breathing. She had to be rushed to the hospital. She 3 days old. This little girl had her hair pulled and was pinched all through her infancy and toddler years. This little girl had her head pushed through a glass bookcase when she was four. This little girl starting being molested when she was 3 years old. The molestation didn't stop until she was 8. The physical abuse also became emotional and mental abuse and the older I got the worse the physical abuse got worse. By the time this little girl was 14 she started drinking and doing drugs just to numb the pain. At 15 she was molested by another uncle several times. Also at 15 she cut her wrist and it took 20 stiches so she was serious. Then she kept drinking and taking pills which led to several overdoses. She went to treatment a couple of times, when she started having flashbacks of the abuse. Then she finally quit drinking at 26 and started taking meds to treat depression. She started to deal with her past and walked through all the pain and then she became a SURVIVOR... She is 52 now.....has dealt with all the pain of her past. Has even been able to forgive her abusers. Now she wants to share her story in hopes that it will help other survivors and bring awareness to society the long term effects abuse has on its victims. This little girl is me....Terri Lynn and she is no longer a victim.

    • Go ahead and cry Because you can no longer deny The loss of your childhood If only you could the memories are always pending and it seems like you are always tending to that little girl inside who so desperately wants to hide and she needs me to comfort her and let her know that I am there and reassure her that I care I can no longer deny her pain The scars still remain I need to face my past The images have been cast Upon me, time and time again The faces of those men I can no longer conceal Those images are real I AM AN ADULT SURVIVOR OF CHILD ABUSE WRITTEN BY TERRI LANAHAN
