CORRECTION: 4 taxes unknown 40 years ago

Jan. 3, 2012: A Dec. 20, 2011, article erroneously reported that because employee health care benefits are included on W-2 forms, they count as earnings and can be taxed. The Internal Revenue Service says the benefits are included for informational purposes only and are not counted as income.

Nov. 28, 2011: A caption for Vancouver Rioters in this Nov. 21 FOX Sports on MSN list gallery originally said the Vancouver Canucks won the 2011 Stanley Cup.  The Boston Bruins won.

CORRECTION: Diabetes Myths Debunked

Nov. 14, 2011: A Nov. 7, 2011, article indicated that lifestyle and genetics play a role in both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. According to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, it is unknown what exactly causes Type 1 diabetes, but scientists believe that autoimmune, genetic, and environmental factors are involved.

Nov. 11, 2011: A Nov. 8, 2011, article misidentified Bev Pomerantz as a casting director for the Game Show Network. In fact, she is an independent casting director who works on programs that appear on the network.

CORRECTION: School gave out X-rated prizes

A Reuters article published on MSNBC.com and featured on the MSN homepage on Oct. 19 about a Florida school trying to retrieve prizes with racy images incorrectly characterized them as being of nude women or X-rated. The pictures found hidden beneath some of the bracelets’ cloth coverings were of women in scanty bikinis.
