Taara Rangarajan serves as Special Assistant to the Permanent Representative to the United Nations- Ambassador Susan E. Rice.
 
Prior to this time Taara served in the White House as Associate Director in the Office of Management and Administration where she worked on work-life initiatives including paid family and medical leave. Taara developed and executed the Professional Development Series program for all White House Staff consisting of monthly speaking events, educational forums, and mentorship programs. Before joining the White House, Taara spent 2007-2009 working on the Presidential Campaign as Youth Vote Director and various field and advance roles throughout the country.

Taara is a graduate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with an honors degree in Political Science and Public Health. She also worked at the U.S Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka where she worked on the Human Rights Report and studied the Sri Lankan response to the Tsunami.  Taara is originally from Sunnyvale, California.
